350.org is an international campaign dedicated to building a movement to unite the world around solutions to the climate crisis. The focus is on the number 350--as in parts per million, the level scientists have identified as the safe upper limit for CO2 in our atmosphere. On October 24th people from all the nations of the world are organizing actions incorporating the number 350 at an iconic place in their community. 350.org will be collecting images from the actions taking place around the world and showing it to the media and world leaders. Various activities are going to take place in all the countries of the world, rallying against climate change and calling out for action. In the Maldives the idea is to have an underwater rally and the Divers Association of Maldives is organizing this action. The idea is for 350 divers, diving in teams for a period of 24 hours. Different teams can do different kinds of feats underwater. Example: have a light show, ride bikes, dive in fancy dress or costumes, etc. An application form for this event would be available shortly from www.dam.org.mv. And also we are opening up a discussion forum to discuss ideas for underwater feats. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Get creative. Also pass this message to all your friends who might be interested to take part.
